There have been some adjusted and clarified details about seating requirements for the Open Restaurant Plan - please review them HERE. Details about ADA ramps and reflective markers on roadway seating barriers were added. It is crucial to know and follow these regulations!
NYC Open Restaurants Plan Guidelines
Starting June 19, NYC restaurant operators can review and self-certify compliance with the city's guidelines for using additional outdoor space for seating. As a reminder, outdoor dining is allowed starting in phase 2, which begins Monday, June 22 in NYC. To get started, review all applicable guidelines , check out this FAQ page , and then fill out the application here . If you have questions, please reach out to kathleenr@nysra.org .
- Here are the 22 streets that are part of the first round of the Open Streets/Open Restaurants plan:
- 1 in the Bronx
- 6 in Brooklyn
- 12 in Manhattan
- 2 in Queens
- 1 in Staten Island.
- You can find detailed location information HERE.
- The hours of operation for seating in the closed streets will be Friday evenings from 5pm - 11pm, and Saturday and Sunday from noon - 11pm.
- Another 10-20 street areas are expected to be added in the coming weeks, and you can still apply for the program (as a group of 3+ restaurants on a block) HERE.
