Opportunity for Restaurants to Make Green by Going Green The New York State Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NYSRAEF), through an EPA grant funding their Green Hospitality Initiative is offering a free training on practical and cost efficient ways to save on energy and water usage, reduce waste and cut back on hazardous chemicals while increasing your restaurant's bottom line.
The training will include time for networking as well as presentations on:
- Strategic practices in running a sustainable business including case studies demonstrating previous success in the restaurant industry
- Opportunity to sign up for free energy, water, and hazardous waste audits customized for your establishment
- Composting and Waste Reduction
- Extensive green resource guide & one-to-one support
Savvy and responsible operators are realizing that greening their restaurants
can be a triple win opportunity. They are conserving limited resources, increasing
customer and employee loyalty and saving money all at the same time!

The first training workshop was on Thursday, October 28, 2010 and was a huge success. In attendance were 9 restaurateurs representing 22 restaurant locations. Each restaurateur who attended signed up for the free water, energy, and/or hazardous chemical audit and will receive recommendations with cost savings analysis.
