ProStart® Invitationals

The New York ProStart Invitational

Top restaurant management and culinary arts students from across New York will travel to Niagara Falls to showcase their talent, skill and knowledge on March 22 & 23, 2012. Teams compete in two distinct events: the Culinary Arts Competition and the Restaurant Management Competition. Judges come from New York’s finest restaurants, colleges and universities. Top-ranked teams earn trophies, medals and scholarships. The winning team in each event will represent New York at the National ProStart Invitational.

Restaurant Management teams develop a proposal for the next hot restaurant concept and present it to a panel of industry judges. They are also tested on the ability to think on their feet when they are asked to solve challenges restaurant managers face on a daily basis.

Culinary Teams prepare a three-course meal in 60 minutes using only two butane burners, with no access to running water or electricity. They are evaluated on taste, skill, teamwork, safety & sanitation, menu and recipe preparation and cost control

The National ProStart Invitational®

The National ProStart Invitational is the country’s premier high school competition focused on restaurant management and culinary arts. The 12th Annual National ProStart Invitational will bring together top ProStart students from more across the country to showcase their talent, passion and skill in Baltimore, Maryland from April 19-21, 2013.
