Scholarships & College Credit

Through partnerships with NYSRA Chapters across the state, NYSRAEF offers a variety of merit-based scholarships to high school students and undergraduates who want an education and a career in the foodservices industry.

Applications and information about 2013 scholarships will be posted as soon as they are available. Check back often!

Scholarships are also available from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. NRAEF partners with leading organizations and individuals in the industry to offer scholarships to first-time freshmen and current undergraduates. Visit the NRAEF Scholarship website for more information including application details and deadlines.

Articulation (College Credit)

ProStart works with leading colleges and university culinary arts and foodservice management programs across the country to provide benefits for ProStart students who earn the National ProStart Certificate of Achievement.

An important benefit is college credit that can be earned in high school through the ProStart program. Entering college with credit for introductory classes means not having to take classes that cover material you already know.

An “Articulation Agreement” is the document that spells out the credit ProStart students may receive when they enroll at a specific college or university.

For information about national ProStart Articulation Agreements, download the National ProStart Collegiate Passport (
