NYS Restaurant Association Names Jeff Dodge as New Chairman of the State Board of Directors

Appoints two others to new positions on State Board
Albany, New York — The NYS Restaurant Association is proud to announce that Jeff Dodge, the General Manager of Food and Beverage for the Rochester Red Wings, has been elected as the new Chairman of the State Board of Directors for the Association. Jeff previously served as the Vice Chair for the Board of Directors and is also a previous President of the Rochester Chapter. Jeff is taking over for Dan Garvey who served as Chairman for two years.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be taking over this position as chairman and I can’t wait to work with our wonderful members all across the state to continue to develop strong programs and services that will help those in the hospitality industry find success,” Dodge said.
Jeff started his work at Frontier Field in 1998 and has been there ever since. Jeff is a former member of the United States Navy, serving as a reactor operator on a nuclear submarine for six years. He has a BA from the University of California at Santa Barbara and attended the University of Rochester for graduate school where he studied Philosophy.
In addition to his outstanding work with the Association Jeff is a certified Purchasing Manager and served as President of the Purchasing Management Association of Rochester. He also served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Concessionaires.
In addition to announcing Jeff as the new Chairman of the State Board of Directors, the NYS Restaurant Association is also happy to name John Urlaub as the new Vice Chairman of the State Board of Directors and Rob Free as the board’s Treasurer.
“John and Rob have long been dedicated members of the Association and both have a tremendous amount of experience in the industry,” said Melissa Fleischut, President & CEO of the NYS Restaurant Association. “Both gentlemen have a keen understanding of what it takes to run successful establishments and I think they will both be tremendous in their new roles with Board of Directors.”
John is a Rochester Native who came home to open the Rohrbach Brewing Company in 1992. The brewery has been recognized for their wonderful brews and in 1995, John opened up a second Rohrbach's on the West Side of the city. John joined the NYS Restaurant Association’s Rochester Chapter in 1992, and served as Chapter President from 2002-2003.
Rob is a 25 year veteran of the food industry, working in a wide variety of establishments. He has spent the last 10 years working with the Buffalo Bisons where he is currently Director of Foodservice Operations. Rob serves on the Erie County Board of Health and concurrent with that is his position on the Local Food Policy Council of Buffalo and Erie County.
