Prepare Your Restaurant for Winter Storm Juno

Monday, January 26, 2015

As an official partner of the New York City Office of Emergency Management, we have been asked to share an update regarding the Winter Storm Juno with restaurants in New York City. Although snow fall has already begun, the worst of the storm is scheduled to hit New York City between 12:00 AM - 1:00 AM on Tuesday, January 27. The storm is expected to continue into Wednesday.

Important reminders for restaurants:

  • Talk to your employees regarding any delays or cancellations in public transportation due to the storm.
  • Communicate with your vendors to see if there are delivery alternatives should the storm get worse.
  • For restaurants close to water, there may be some coastal flooding. Make sure you have secured anything outdoors, including furniture, decks/porches, or docks. If you are susceptible to water damage, prepare your location as needed with sump pumps, sandbags, etc.

The New York State Restaurant Association will continue to inform you of any new developments or if more information is received from the New York City Office of Emergency Management. For questions, comments, or concerns regarding this issue contact Chris Hickey at or 212.398.9160.
