New 25 MPH Speed Limit in NYC Starts on November 7
Thursday, November 06, 2014
Beginning tomorrow, November 7, the speed limit on all streets in New York City will be 25 MPH, unless otherwise posted.
This reduction in speed limit from 30 MPH is one of the new initiatives of the Vision Zero program by the Mayor’s office to reduce traffic fatalities in the city.
The New York State Restaurant Association has worked closely with the Mayor’s Office, NYPD, and Department of Transportation to keep restaurants in the city updated with information to help them keep their customers and employees safe. We encourage all restaurant owners to review the details of the new speed limit and share details with their employees.
For more information on the 25 MPH Speed Limit, visit the NYC Department of Transportation Website. With any questions, comments, or concern, contact our NYC office at 212.398.9160 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
