Remember to Provide Employee Right to Paid Sick Leave Notice

Starting April 1, 2014, restaurants in NYC were required to provide sick leave to their employees. To date, over 200 complaints have been made of businesses failing to comply yet no fines have been issued by the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA). 

Most of the complaints have come from employees that say their employers have not provided them with the required notice of employee rights. 

To help restaurant employers comply with the law, we've created a short list of 10 tips for Employers on Providing Notice of Employee Rights to Paid Sick Leave on our website. 

In addition, the DCA website now has the Notice of Employee Rights available for download in 26 languages and has Timekeeping Tools available for restaurants to keep track of sick leave accrual and use.
