House Votes YES to 40 Hour Work Week

April 3, 2014 – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 248 – 179 in favor of the “Save Americans Workers Act”.
The legislation (H.R.2575) would change the definition of full-time
employee under the Affordable Care Act from 30 hours a week back to a
more traditional definition of 40 hours a week.
This vote was a “key vote” for our national partner the National
Restaurant Association. The NYS Restaurant Association contacted every
member in the U.S. House of Representatives from New York and asked them
to support H.R.2575. The New York delegation voted party lines with
all Republicans voting in favor and all Democrats voting against the
