About Neighbors Allied for Good Growth
Neighbors Allied for Good Growth is a 501c(3) based in North Brooklyn advocating with and for the people who live and work in Greenpoint and Williamsburg. NAG, formerly known as Neighbors Against Garbage, formed in 1994 to fight the expansion of the illegally operated waste transfer station on the North Brooklyn waterfront. The campaign was a success, and the organization achieved its goal of turning the land into a new state park: now East River State Park. NAG has since gone on to secure much-needed greenspace and affordable housing, preserve viable industrial and artisanal jobs and achieve development strategies that maintain the neighborhood character in North Brooklyn.
