In 2010, the Letter Grade System was implemented by the NYC Department of Health to reduce food borne illnesses and assist consumers in the making informed decisions in choosing a food-based establishment for dining purposes. In this course, hosted by consultants based in the food-service industry, attendees will learn the purpose of the letter grade system, common violations and the ‘cost’ of each grade (A-F, Grade Pending).

You will learn about:

  • Inspection Cycles by the Department of Health 
  • Avoiding the most common violations
  • Why operating your business at the highest level of food safety is cheaper and better for business
  • How social media can impact your business and tips on how to properly handle negative reviews
