Serving Alcohol is serious business, especially in New York State where third-party liability exists. Training your servers can provide you with a “best effort defense” in liquor liability lawsuits. Many insurance companies are requiring this training before renewing liability coverage. Some companies offer discounts.
Certification of employees who have completed the TIPS Program (Training in Intervention Procedures for Servers of Alcohol) is approved by the New York State Liquor Authority and most liability insurers.
